ABOUT PHOENIX/ONE

PHOENIX/ONE exists to unify the local church through care and connection.
We believe that our part in helping to bring Jesus’ prayer in John 17:23 to fruition is to provide care for the church – specifically for church staff members. The Church focuses on caring for congregants, the lost, orphans, widows, and vulnerable. Often, these same church leaders are expected to and/or left to find ways to care for themselves on their own.
Our extensive research has shown that this can lead to lonely and destructive paths that negatively impact individuals, families, and ultimately, the Church as a whole.
Unity among the Church is the greatest apologetic of the love of Christ to a watching and waiting generation. We create a safe, neutral environment for the staff of churches to connect and find care, which can foster individual and communal healing.
It starts with ONE person choosing to pursue health to impact the Church in becoming more united as ONE!
OUR CORE VALUES:
We prioritize relationships
We listen to and act on what God says
We step outside of our comfort zones
We deliver more than is expected
We have a goal to help 5,000 church staff and spouses by 2030

No. PHOENIX/ONE is not a church or affiliated with one. That being said, we are a nonprofit that loves the local church, and we are committed to serving her.
-
Not at this time. PHOENIX/ONE began in 2010 with a city-wide worship gathering focused on reintroducing millennials to the local church. We closed that iteration down in 2014 and relaunched in 2020 with a new focus of making church staff and their spouses healthier.
-
No, but we work hand-in-hand with our network of licensed counselors. Our speciality comes from 30+ years of ministry experience and Biblical training, as well as our desire to connect staff with whatever healthy next step they need.
-
We have never been (nor will we be) affiliated with any particular denomination. PHOENIX/ONE is grounded in an ecumenical (representing the whole of a body of Christian churches) view of the local church in hopes to see the fulfillment of Jesus’ high priestly prayer in John 17:20-23.

Every staff member as well as anyone we train signs a non-disclosure agreement, and violations of this agreement are not tolerated. We want each client to feel safe; therefore, we take confidentiality VERY SERIOUSLY.

Our desire is first and foremost to get to know you and your heart for your local church. Sometimes our services are a perfect fit; other times they are not. Our commitment is to help you navigate the place God has you, and then we can work alongside you to see if PHOENIX/ONE is a good fit for your local church.

Yes. One of our greatest joys is to support church staff spouses. We know the pressure that comes with being a spouse of a pastor or staff member, and we are 100% committed to serving spouses.

We take your investment seriously!
Here are a few ways:
We have a board of directors who holds us accountable to our mission and vision.
We run on EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System), which means we have a clear structure, as well as 7-year, 3-year, 1-year, and 90-day plans that we evaluate weekly.
We update a “scorecard” weekly, which tracks our labor hours, churches, staff, and spouses that we impact, as well as other details. We can share these metrics and our progress with any partner.
